Springtime in the Rockies is one of my most favorite time of the year.
The weather starts t wrm up and the earth comes to life.
The water runs off the mountains like it racing to the sea, and creates beautiful water falls for us to enjoy.

I live in Colorado with my family and we like to go on weekend adventures to see what we can discover.
Writing letters is a great way to stay in touch with someone who lives far away. In a letter you can write about what you are doing and how you are felling.

Ideas of items you can add to a letter:

1. Ask how the other person is feeling
2. Ask what the other person has been doing lately
3. Tell the person how you are feeling
4. Tell the person what you have been doing lately
5. Write about what is going on at school or in your activities
6. Write about something that is coming up in your life
7. Ask the other person what is coming up for them
8. Write a story for the other person to enjoy

When writing a letter, be sure to ask questions so the other person has something to respond to.

When responding to a letter, be sure to answer the questions that you were asked.
The word Colorado means the color red. It was given this name because of the scarlet colors in the soil.

Denver is a mile high. That means it is 5,280 feet above sea level, or one mile.

There is a marker on the steps of the Capital building that tells the elevation.

There is less oxygen in the air here.

It helps to drink water as you are getting used to the altitude.

The colors of the Colorado flag stand for: Blue for the sky, white for the snow, yellow for the fold, and red for the scarlet soil.

The state bird is the Lark Bunting. It is black with white on it's wings.

The average temperature in the sprintime is 75 degrees.

Colorado has an average of 320 sunny days.

The Colorado football team is the Denver Broncos and the Colorado basketball team is the Denver Nuggets.

Gold was found in Clear Creek in 1850.
